Lesley Croxford

Lesley says of the exhibition at i2 Art:

"The paintings within this exhibition were created through the seasons from winter to spring through full summer to early autumn.

The focus of my paintings is within my room and its contents, whether plants, cut flowers or a table's chaotic collection of objects.  But my paintings also describe the effect of the outside world, the light or absence of it, the temperature, the dormancy or growth within the seasons on myself and on the interior space.  The exterior and interior worlds sometimes appear as separate and different and sometimes merging together."

Lesley Croxford was born in Essex and lives and works in Colchester.

She completed a foundation course at Colchester Institute in 1979 and then a three year course in Painting and Printmaking at Wimbledon School of Art where she achieved a first class honours degree.

During her time at Wimbledon she was chosen to exhibit twice at the Royal Academy in the Stowells Trophy exhibition, receiving an award for an etching and also at the Institute of Contemporary Arts, New Contemporaries Exhibition.  She has exhibited at the Royal Festival Hall and taken part in East Anglian Artists at Kettles Yard, Cambridge. She has also exhibited extensively throughout East Anglia.
